An FUE hair transplant is a long-term permanent solution and surgical procedure in which hair follicles are transplanted from one part of the head to another part where the hair is thinning or receding.
Hair transplantation is a surgical technique that carefully and painlessly removes hair follicles from one part of the body, called the ‘donor site’, to a balding part of the body known as the ‘recipient site’. The technique is primarily used to treat male and female pattern baldness and hair thinning.
There are many techniques used in hair transplantation treatments, here at GrowPro we endorse the use of two of the latest techniques, Sapphire FUE and DHI. Both of these process are available for men and women, however with our leading-edge DHI techniques, there is no need to shave prior to treatment.
GrowPro was founded to make hair restoration treatments more affordable and accessible for men and women.
FUE hair transplant surgery, also known as the Sapphire FUE hair transplant, technology is similar to the DHI technology, with the primary difference being the blade used during the hair loss treatment. During a hair transplant procedure, a sapphire blade creates channels on the scalp.
Individual follicles are extracted during stage one of FUE treatment and transplanted into the channels opened with the sapphire blades in stage two. For our FUE treatment, in most cases, we advise patients that their heads will be shaved completely on the morning of the procedure. This can be avoided on rare occasions, however, not common.
The technology used during FUE hair transplant procedures was based off the original hair transplant method of FUT. FUE is much less traumatic for both the scalp and patient and doesn’t leave a massive scar as outdated hair transplant methods did. However, the implantation method is extremely similar and based off the same science.
FUE hair transplant costs are slightly lower than DHI, however, there are many benefits to each. You can see a comparison between the methods here.
What is a robotic FUE hair transplant?
Some clinics will use robotics to carry out certain steps of the FUE treatment. This enables the clinic to lower costs of manpower and treat more than one person at a time as the specialist is tending to multiple patients at once. Unfortunately, as cool as robots are, they can’t determine what looks natural, so individual hairs are not able to be implanted in different directions to match the unique pattern of your natural hair growth.
We don’t use robotics. At GrowPro your procedure is carried out from start to finish by your assigned highly qualified and experienced specialist.
Am I suitable for the Sapphire FUE hair transplant?
The FUE method will generally be preferred hair loss treatment for those needing extra-large areas treated, such as a patient with a fully balded crown and top of the scalp requiring 4000+ grafts.
Recovery Process
After a Sapphire FUE hair transplant, there is a required day of rest before the patient can go out and explore Istanbul and enjoy their holiday.
Patients will receive their first hair wash in the clinic two days post hair loss treatment.
A month post hair loss treatment, scabs are removed from gentle washes.
1 to 3 months post-treatment the newly implanted hairs will fall out in a shock loss process, this is a very normal stage of the Sapphire FUE transplant recovery process, don’t panic!
Around 6 months post-treatment, approximately 60% of the permanent hair is expected to have grown.
You can expect to see the full results of a Sapphire FUE transplant around 12-18 months post-treatment.
